help shape the future of langley meals on wheels
Langley Meals on Wheels Services Society is inviting community leaders to apply to join our Board of Directors.
LMOW is growing and evolving, and strong governance is an important part of ensuring we continue to meet the changing needs of our community.
Our Board recently completed a Skills Matrix to identify our current strengths and areas where additional expertise would strengthen our governance. We are fortunate to have strong experience in governance, strategic leadership, fundraising, community connections, and services supporting older adults.
As we plan for the future, we are particularly interested in hearing from individuals with professional experience in:
• Legal, risk management or regulatory compliance
• Finance, accounting, audit or financial governance
• Technology, digital systems, data or cybersecurity
• Marketing, communications or strategic storytelling
• Human resources / People & Culture
Experience in non-profit governance, policy development, strategic planning, business leadership or community development is also valued.
What does serving on the LMOW Board involve?
Board members provide governance and strategic oversight to the organization. Directors help establish strategic direction, provide financial and organizational oversight, participate in policy and governance decisions, and help ensure LMOW remains accountable to its mission and community.
Board members are expected to attend and prepare for Board meetings, participate on a Board committee, contribute their knowledge and perspective, and act in the best interests of the Society.
These are volunteer governance positions.
Previous Board experience is an asset but is not required. We welcome applications from people with diverse professional backgrounds, lived experiences, perspectives and community connections.
Our Mission
To ensure all are fed, connected and supported.
Our Vision
No one hungry or isolated.
If you believe your experience could help strengthen the future of Langley Meals on Wheels, we would love to hear from you.
